I’ll have what she’s having is a replay of the endless stream of images that broadcast in my mind. 

 

Celebrity faces, advertised products, random screenshots, memes, cartoons and fragments of the internet; sifting through a discontinued collage of randomness has become an unavoidable daily ritual for me.

These images seduce us. They are funny, nostalgic, glamorous, strange and familiar. But as they accumulate, attraction becomes overload. One image leads to another, then another… I wanted to capture the feeling of never quite being satisfied, the sensation of overstimulation without satisfaction.

 

Rendering fleeting digital images with an obsessive amount of detail, the coloured pencils are used to both celebrate and critique this excess. This collection is a reflection of everything we’re forced to look at, like, save, share and fixate on. I’ll have what she’s having is a banquet of images that we consume, and presents them in such a way that reveals the strange point at which they begin to consume us.
